Today was indeed a memorable day at the Mining Cadastre Office, Abuja as the out-going Director-General of the agency, Engineer Amate, who has put in a meritorious service to the nation handed over mantle of leadership to the in-coming helmsman, Engineer Obadiah Simon Nkom.
Speaking at the occasion, he expressed happiness for having accomplished set goals in the agency and being opportune to successfully hand over the affairs and activities of the agency to Engr Nkom. He acknowledged the hard working, skilled and competent staff of the firm and urged them to extend cooperation and assistance, which he graciously enjoyed to the new Director-General to facilitate the growth of the agency, sector and the Nation at large
The senior citizen noted that as a pioneer head, who immensely contributed to the development of Mining Cadastre, the secret of its success has always been on three (3) guiding principles namely, integrity, rule of law and transparency. He, therefore, appealed to its staff and management to strictly adhere and embrace the culture to ensure effective and efficient service delivery and wealth of the nation.
According to him, the gateway to mining is the Mining Cadastre and it must be jealously guarded by routinely, implementing true fear of God and ensuring positive attitude to work through the three (3) guidelines in order to realize productivity in the industry that will impact the citizenry.
In his response, the new boss, eulogized Engr Amate for his immeasurable efforts towards putting Nigeria on the global mining map through his enhanced skills and also being a pace-setter, father of the industry, and his mentor.
He assured him that the agency’s work force will not relent to continuously work towards making him proud and moving it to higher heights. He noted that the time is apt for the agency to work and also expressed optimism that the tributes being poured out for Engr Amate will spur them to work as the window of the sector to bring about change in the nation and ensure that Nigeria develop to the expectation of the global world. He, on behalf of the entire staff of Mining Cadastre wished him good health and success in life.
The Director (Registry), Hajia Sadiqa Sallau, in her closing remarks at the event said the knowledge Engr Amate has imparted in them cannot be quantified. She re-assured that they will see to the growth of the industry to as it is the gateway of mining industry. She thanked all for gracing the occasion. The Director pointed out that the downfall of the sector lies with the Cadastre and assured that they will make the agency stronger.
A staff of the agency, Engr Udoh, prayed that God who has seen Engr. Amate through will continue to be with him and use him to guide the agency to achieve more success. He also prayed for wisdom, knowledge and understanding for the in-coming boss and the strength to judiciously execute all his assigned duties.
